Power Networks & Grid Stabilization
Scalable central and decentralized solutions to stabilize power grids against congestion and fluctuating loads.
The Changing Power Grid
The energy grid is facing increasingly heavy loads due to shifts in power consumption and generation. Think of the integration of solar farms, wind farms, and tidal energy systems. On the demand side, loads fluctuate heavily at specific times of day—such as surges caused by electric vehicle charging. Additionally, decentralized generation by residential solar installations feeds unpredictable power back into the system.
All these aspects lead to fluctuations in energy demand and availability, making investments in the grid inevitable. To address these challenges, Mc Energy offers high-quality, scalable solutions suitable for both central and decentralized applications.
Central and Decentralized Deployment
By enabling energy storage directly at the substation (with or without a connection to the MV side of the distribution transformer), power can be supplied straight from the storage system during peak demand, relieving the main grid entirely.
Naturally, this can also be implemented at street or neighborhood level, where local energy storage systems are deployed to smooth out consumption spikes—such as those caused by clusters of EV charging stations.
