Flexible power supply, significant GHG reduction, and smart grid integration for zero-emission job sites.
The Local Grid Hub (LGH) on Site
On modern construction sites and temporary project locations, a reliable and robust power supply is critical, especially in areas facing grid congestion. To address these challenges effectively, Mc Energy introduces the Local Grid Hub (LGH). This advanced control core is available in various power classes ranging from 125A up to 1000A.
The Local Grid Hub makes it possible to seamlessly combine and boost a small temporary grid connection. The system acts as a universal hub that effortlessly integrates battery packs from different manufacturers, traditional generator sets, or even directly connected renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power.
Maximum Efficiency & GHG Emission Reduction
Deploying the Local Grid Hub drastically minimizes greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions such as CO2 and nitrogen oxides (NOx) on site. While traditional diesel generators often run continuously under light loads — leading to inefficient combustion and high emissions — our energy hub ensures optimal hybridization:
- Eliminating Idling: Generators run only briefly at their peak operational efficiency to recharge the batteries, or remain shut down entirely for hours at a time.
- Direct CO2 and NOx Savings: With peak shaving, the battery absorbs power surges. This allows for a significantly smaller generator or lighter grid connection, resulting in 40% to 80% fuel savings. Every liter of unburned diesel saves approximately 2.6 kg of CO2.
- Silent and Zero-Emission Hours: Overnight and during weekends, site infrastructure (such as security monitoring and cabin heating) runs silently with zero emissions on stored (renewable) energy.
- Facilitating Electric Heavy Equipment: The hub acts as a powerful fast-charging point for heavy electric equipment (e.g., excavators and cranes), driving direct on-site emissions down to zero.
